From high chairs to benches, over the last few months BCA has begun to establish new areas for students to relax around the campus. Yet, many of the current additions to the school have gone unnoticed. As Trimester Three approaches, this is a summarized guide to the best hangout spots of BCA:

  1. The High Chairs

Located in front of the auditorium doors, there are four sets of high chairs and tables. The newest addition to the BCA campus, the high chairs and table are an ideal lunch spot with optimal sunlight due to the surrounding windows. A senior in AVPA said, “The high chairs are my new favorite spot to not only eat lunch but study. Not a lot of people walk through the front of the auditorium making it one of the quietest spots of the school.”

  1. The Patio

Located right outside the commons doors, the patio is a shaded area of lunch tables. Perfect for fall and spring weather, the area is a relatively quiet area despite its outside location and large tables and chairs.

  1. Inside Benches

Located all around the school, a number of benches are available for students to use. Perfect for both a quick place to rest and a full-length study hall, the benches provide an easy solution for tired BCA students. “I always eat my lunch in the benches in front of the choir room on days where I have lunch choir. Being able to sit down for fifteen minutes before class is really convenient for me,” said Sophie Kim, a sophomore in ACHA.

Often situated next to a vending machine or cafeteria, these benches serve as a quick rest stop for most students. Regardless, these benches are also in both the chemistry wing, math wing and main second floor hallway.

  1. Outside Benches

Located outside of the auditorium, a number of wooden benches and tables provide the perfect picnic lunch area. However, regardless of its ideal outside location and comfortable seats, these benches are arguably one of the least used rest areas. Hyaemhin Moon, a sophomore in AVPA said, “I always see the benches and think about how nice it would be to eat lunch there but I never find myself ever actually going there.”

  1. Auditorium Tables

Located in front of the auditorium yet on the opposite side to the high chairs, a series of white tables provide an area for not only recreation but study for students. Out of all the rest areas of BCA, these tables are arguably the most used for group projects and academic collaboration. “I prefer to meet with my friends to study at the tables in front of the auditorium over the commons area or the lower cafeteria because it is the perfectly balanced quiet space. Unlike the commons area, we can talk freely yet we have more privacy than in the lower cafeteria,” said a sophomore in AMST.

Ultimately, the goal of these rest stops are to provide as many comfortable options for BCA students. Whether that be in the upper or lower cafeterias or a spot on this list, it is up to the student to choose where they decide to spend their time. Regardless, it is evident that BCA will continually make new additions to the campus in hopes of catering towards all students.
